ADNOC Logistics & Services (L&S) has signed contracts worth $4.4 billion to construct 23 new supertankers for transporting low-carbon fuels like ethane, ammonia, and liquefied natural gas (LNG). The deal, which includes a $1.9 billion agreement with China's Jiangnan Shipyard to build nine Very Large Ethane Carriers (VLECs) and four Very Large Ammonia Carriers (VLACs), and a $2.5 billion investment to construct up to 10 LNG carriers with South Korean shipbuilders, aims to strengthen the UAE's energy logistics capabilities and support global energy transition efforts.

In addition to expanding its fleet, ADNOC L&S is also increasing its use of artificial intelligence (AI) to improve operational efficiency and reduce carbon emissions. The company recently entered the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) sector with a $975 million contract to build an artificial island and is expanding its global presence with the acquisition of Navgi8, which will add 32 tankers to its fleet and extend its reach to 15 locations across five continents.
