Adobe to Raise Prices as It Opens Up Access to New Generative AI Features

Adobe is updating its Creative Cloud suite with new generative artificial intelligence (AI) features, powered by its Firefly technology. These features will enhance creativity across applications like Photoshop, Illustrator, and Adobe Express, allowing users to generate and expand images, recolor artwork, and apply styles or textures to text. Adobe's new Generative Credits system will enable users to transform text prompts into images and vector creations, with subscription packs for purchasing extra credits available from November 2023.

However, these updates come with price adjustments. Starting November 1, 2023, certain Creative Cloud plans will increase by $2 to $5 per month. Adobe will also issue a one-time "contributor" bonus to artists based on their contributions to Adobe's database and licensing from June 2022 to June 2023, with plans to offer annual bonuses for contributions to the training of AI systems.
