Adobe upgrades Acrobat AI chatbot to add multi-document analysis, image generation

Adobe is upgrading its AI Assistant feature in Acrobat, its popular PDF editing software, with new AI-powered features, including an image generator. The AI Assistant will now be able to analyze multiple documents at once and support file types beyond PDF. The update also includes an AI image generator powered by Adobe's Firefly model, which allows users to remove backgrounds from images or make slight alterations directly within existing PDF documents. Adobe's AI Assistant can now analyze multiple documents at once, including non-PDF files like Word and PowerPoint documents.
However, Adobe faced backlash recently over clauses in its terms of service that potentially allowed the company to analyze user content. The company has since revised its terms and clarified that it will never access user content to train its AI models. Despite documents being uploaded to the cloud for analysis, Adobe insists it will not use the data to train its models and will prohibit third-party LLM providers from using the data.
