Jan 16, 2024 - techtimes.com
A recent survey by PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) reveals that business leaders worldwide are concerned about the impact of artificial intelligence (AI) and climate change on their companies' viability. Approximately 45% of the 4,702 CEOs surveyed believe their companies would not survive the next decade without significant changes. Over 75% anticipate AI advancements will have a major impact on their organizations within the next three years. Meanwhile, 40% of CEOs said they accepted lower profits for climate-friendly investments, highlighting an increased focus on environmental concerns.

The survey also found that AI is viewed as both a strength and a means of streamlining corporate processes. However, concerns about AI leading to misinformation and cybersecurity threats were also raised. Regarding climate change, the PwC poll states it is the most significant megatrend forcing CEOs to reimagine their businesses. While many are working towards increasing energy efficiency and developing climate-friendly products or services, only 31% stated they had plans to address climate risks in financial planning. Despite these concerns, executive confidence in the economy increased to 38% from 18% the previous year.
