ElevenLabs, an AI voice startup founded by former Google and Palantir employees, has reached unicorn status after raising $80 million in a series B funding round, increasing its valuation to $1.1 billion. The company, which specializes in voice cloning and synthesis in various languages, plans to use the funding to further its research and develop its products. It also announced new features, including a tool for dubbing full-length movies and a marketplace where users can sell their cloned voices.

The company has gained over a million users since its launch in 2022, with 41% of the Fortune 500 among its customers. Its new Dubbing Studio workflow allows users to dub entire movies in their chosen language, generate and edit transcripts, translations, and timecodes. However, it does not currently support lip-syncing.
