Alphabet quantum spin-out Sandbox AQ acquires Good Chemistry | TechCrunch

Sandbox AQ, an AI and quantum firm spun out of Alphabet, has acquired Good Chemistry, a quantum and computational chemistry startup based in Vancouver. The acquisition will expand Sandbox's global presence and add simulation technologies and major customers to its portfolio. Good Chemistry's software and existing partnerships will help Sandbox accelerate the delivery of advanced simulation and AI tools to more customers, and all of Good Chemistry's backers have joined Sandbox AQ's investor base.

As part of the acquisition, Sandbox AQ will integrate Good Chemistry's software, Qemist Cloud and Tangelo, into its enterprise software portfolio. The company gains 25 computational and quantum chemists, AI and software engineers, and quantum computing scientists. Arman Zaribafiyan, the founder of Good Chemistry, will join Sandbox as head of product for simulation platforms.
