Alta raises $7 million to automate sales with an AI 'workforce'

Mar 04, 2025 - businessinsider.com
Tel Aviv-based startup Alta has raised $7 million in seed funding to develop an AI "workforce" aimed at automating sales tasks for companies. Founded in 2023 by Stav Neumark-Levi, Tom Hoffen, and Mor Shabtai, Alta focuses on creating AI agents that are transparent about not being human, which has proven more effective in maintaining user trust. The AI agents, such as "Katie" for prospecting and "Luna" for revenue operations, help sales teams by automating repetitive tasks like prospecting, research, outreach, and meeting scheduling. Alta's proprietary large language model integrates with over 50 business tools, and the company operates on a subscription model, with plans to evolve to an outcome-based pricing model.

The $7 million seed round was led by Entrée Capital and Target Global, with participation from angel investor Ben Lang and strategic advisors like former Salesforce president Gavin Patterson. Alta plans to use the funding to expand its AI offerings beyond sales development representatives to include account executives and account managers, further automating the sales cycle. The startup has already attracted nearly 100 paying customers, including Fortune 500 companies and SMBs, and aims to redefine the relationship between AI and sales teams by enhancing efficiency without replacing human roles.
