Amazon finally releases its own AI-powered image generator | TechCrunch

Nov 29, 2023 - news.bensbites.co
Amazon has unveiled Titan Image Generator, an AI model that can create new images from text descriptions or modify existing images, at its re:Invent conference. The model, which is available for AWS customers on Amazon's AI development platform Bedrock, can be used to change image backgrounds and generate lifestyle images. Amazon claims the model has been trained on diverse datasets across various domains and includes built-in mitigations for toxicity and bias.

The company also plans to protect customers accused of copyright violations with images generated by Titan Image Generator, in line with its AI indemnification policy. Images created with the model will come with a "tamper-resistant" invisible watermark by default to prevent the spread of AI-generated misinformation and abuse imagery. However, Amazon has not disclosed the source of the datasets used to train the model or whether it has obtained permission from or compensated the creators of the images used.
