Amazon’s Alexa gets new generative AI-powered experiences | TechCrunch

Amazon has announced the launch of new tools for developers to create LLM-powered experiences, with three developers already delivering generative AI-powered Alexa experiences. These include AI chatbot platform Character.AI, which allows users to converse with different personas; AI music company Splash, which enables users to create songs using their voice; and Voice AI game developer Volley, which has introduced a generative AI-powered "20 Questions" game.

In addition to these, Amazon has made several AI-related enhancements to Alexa, including a new generative AI model to give the virtual assistant a more opinionated personality and the ability to express human emotions. Amazon also announced at CES that it will bring Fire TV to Panasonic’s new smart TVs in 2024, support Matter Casting on Fire TV and Echo Show 15 devices, and introduce the latest generation of robotaxi Zoox.
