AMP Robotics raises $91M to accelerate deployment of recycling systems - The Robot Report

Dec 05, 2024 - news.bensbites.com
AMP Robotics Corp. has raised $91 million in a Series D financing round to accelerate the deployment of its AMP ONE systems. These systems use artificial intelligence and robotics to sort municipal solid waste, capturing billions of dollars in value otherwise lost to landfills or incineration. The company, founded in 2014, has identified 150 billion items and sorted over 2.5 million tons of recyclables with its AI platform. It currently has three full-scale facilities and over 400 AI systems deployed across North America, Asia, and Europe.

Recent deployments of AMP ONE have demonstrated its ability to sort waste cost-effectively, with one facility processing 150 tons of local waste per day with over 90% uptime. Last month, AMP Robotics also entered into an agreement with Waste Connections Inc. to equip and operate one of their single-stream recycling facilities in Colorado. The Series D round was led by Congruent Ventures, with participation from current and new investors including Sequoia Capital, XN, Blue Earth Capital, Liberty Mutual Investments, and others.
