Brave is launching its AI assistant on iPhone and iPad | TechCrunch

Apr 03, 2024 - techcrunch.com
Brave has launched its AI assistant, Leo, for iPhone and iPad users, following its previous rollout on Android and desktop. The iOS version includes a voice-to-text feature, allowing users to vocalize their queries instead of typing them. Leo can answer questions, summarize pages, generate reports, translate or rewrite pages, create transcriptions, and write code. The AI assistant also includes access to Mixtral 8x7B, Anthropic’s Claude Instant, and Meta’s Llama 2 13B, with Mixtral 8x7B set as the default LLM.

Brave hopes that by offering a built-in AI assistant, users will not need to use similar services like ChatGPT. Users can upgrade to Leo Premium for higher rate limits at $14.99 per month. The AI assistant is now available to all iOS users who have updated to version 1.63 and can be accessed by typing in the browser's address bar and selecting "Ask Leo". The feature is opt-in and can be disabled in the app's settings.
