Dec 21, 2023 - siliconangle.com
AI startup Rabbit Inc. has raised $10 million in a Series A funding round led by Khosla Ventures to develop a mobile device with an AI-powered operating system. The device, named r1, is being developed in collaboration with Swedish electronics manufacturer Teenage Engineering AB and will feature Rabbit's custom operating system, Rabbit OS, powered by an internally-developed generative AI model called LAM. The AI will enable users to interact with apps using natural language commands and perform complex tasks involving multiple apps.

Rabbit's CEO, Jesse Lyu, has stated that the device's AI is compatible with apps from major tech firms such as DoorDash, Spotify, and Yelp, and plans are underway to introduce support for niche consumer apps next year. The company also plans to make its AI compatible with multiple operating systems including Windows, macOS, Linux, and Android. The funds raised will be used to support the launch of the r1 device and to enhance the LAM model.
