Despite the hype around generative artificial intelligence (AI), many companies have yet to invest significantly in the technology. Only 5% of senior leaders at global organizations say their companies have mature gen AI initiatives, according to a report by Genpact and HFS Research. About 45% are delaying investment, adopting a wait-and-see approach. The research also revealed that about half of the executives view gen AI solely as a productivity tool, which is a myopic vision according to Sreekanth Menon, global leader, AI and machine learning at Genpact.
