The guidelines, part of the Digital Services Act (DSA), require these platforms to mitigate systemic risks like political deepfakes while protecting fundamental rights like freedom of expression and privacy. The EU expects these tech giants to improve their protection of democratic votes and deploy capable content moderation resources in multiple official languages.
