Exclusive: Simbian brings AI to existing security tools

Apr 11, 2024 - techcrunch.com
Ambuj Kumar, a former Nvidia engineer and co-founder of Fortanix, has launched Simbian, an AI-powered cybersecurity platform that automates a company's cybersecurity workflows. Co-founded with former Twitter software engineer Alankrit Chona, Simbian uses AI to control other cybersecurity platforms, security apps, and tools. It can automatically orchestrate and operate existing security tools, finding the right configurations for each product based on a company's priorities and thresholds for security. The platform also responds to "security events" by allowing customers to steer security while handling lower-level details.

Simbian has raised $10 million from investors including Coinbase board member Gokul Rajaram, Cota Capital partner Aditya Singh, Icon Ventures, Firebolt, and Rain Capital. The Mountain View-based startup, which currently has 15 employees, plans to use the majority of the capital raised for product development and aims to double its workforce by the end of the year.
