Forbes now has its own AI search engine

Oct 26, 2023 - theverge.com
Forbes has launched a beta version of a generative AI search platform named Adelaide, developed with Google Cloud, to provide personalized searches for its readers. The platform allows users to ask specific questions or input general topics and receive recommended articles and summarized answers within Forbes' coverage scope. The AI was trained on Forbes stories from the past 12 months. The aim of this innovation is to increase user engagement with search and Forbes' stories.

Adelaide is not Forbes' first venture into AI. In 2019, they created Bertie, an AI tool that offered writing style suggestions to Forbes journalists. In 2021, they released ForbesOne, a machine learning platform for personalized user recommendations. Both Adelaide and Bertie were built using Google Cloud tools. Forbes plans to eventually expand Adelaide's knowledge base to its entire archive, dating back to 1917.
