Founders of Sysomos, Aislelabs find traction bringing their AI research to AEC

Nov 08, 2024 - betakit.com
Toronto-based AI startup Workorb has secured $2.6 million CAD in seed financing to further develop its automation product for the architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) industry. The funding round was led by Greece-based venture firm Metavallon Ventures, with participation from Freedom of Innovation Ventures and other undisclosed individuals. Workorb's AI tools are designed to automate non-billable tasks in the AEC industry, such as drafting proposals, managing professional relationships, and extracting compliance requirements from large documents.

Workorb was founded by AI researchers CEO Nick Koudas and CTO Nilesh Bansal, who previously founded marketing startup Sysomos and marketing automation platform Aislelabs. The co-founders believe that the AEC industry has been slow to adopt digital technology due to the lack of solutions that can handle its complex workflows. With Workorb, they aim to address this issue by providing a platform that cleans data and prepares it for AI-powered solutions. The company is planning to expand its business development efforts and refine its product by 2025.
