Frequently asked questions about generative credits

Sep 16, 2023 - helpx.adobe.com
Adobe has introduced generative credits, a system that provides priority processing of generative AI content across features powered by Firefly in Adobe applications. Generative AI is a type of artificial intelligence that enhances creativity by producing results from simple text prompts. The consumption of generative credits depends on the computational cost of the generated output and the value of the generative AI feature used. Until November 1, 2023, paid subscribers of Creative Cloud, Adobe Firefly, Adobe Express, and Adobe Stock won't be subject to generative credit limits.

The number of generative credits each user receives depends on their subscription. For example, the Creative Cloud All Apps plan includes 1,000 monthly generative credits, while the Adobe Express Premium plan includes 250. If users reach their plan-specific generative credit limit during the month, they can either experience slower use of the features or receive a daily generation cap. After November 1, 2023, users will also be able to purchase additional priority processing generative credits through a new subscription plan. Generative credits are not pooled and can't be shared across multiple users.

Key takeaways:

  • Generative credits are used for priority processing of generative AI content across Adobe Firefly-powered features. The number of credits used depends on the computational cost of the generated output and the value of the AI feature used.
  • Starting November 1, 2023, generative credit limits will apply. If users reach their limit, they may experience slower use of the features or a daily generation cap. Additional credits can be purchased through a new subscription plan.
  • The number of generative credits each user receives depends on their subscription. If a user has multiple subscriptions, the total number of generative credits available is the sum of each subscription’s allocation.
  • Generative credits do not roll over to the next month and are not pooled or shared across multiple users. They are also different from Adobe Stock credits, which are used to license content from the Adobe Stock website.
