Generative AI stickers are coming to Meta's apps along with AI editing | TechCrunch

Sep 27, 2023 - news.bensbites.co
Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced at the Meta Connect event that generative AI stickers will be introduced to Meta's messaging apps. The feature, powered by Meta's new image generation model, Emu, will allow users to create unique AI stickers in seconds across apps like WhatsApp, Messenger, Instagram, and Facebook Stories. The stickers have been in internal testing at Meta and will be broadly rolled out across Meta's apps, along with AI editing tools for Instagram.

The AI stickers can be created by typing into a text box the kind of images users want to see. The feature will initially be available to English-language users and will roll out over the next month. In addition, Meta is introducing two new features, Restyle and Backdrop, which allow users to transform images or co-create AI-generated images with friends. These features are also powered by Emu and will be coming soon to Instagram.
