Getty and Nvidia bring generative AI to stock photos

Jan 08, 2024 - theverge.com
Getty Images and Nvidia have expanded their AI partnership with the launch of Generative AI by iStock, a text-to-image platform designed to create stock photos. The platform, which is aimed at small and medium businesses, allows users to generate specific images based on text prompts, making it more efficient and precise. Unlike Getty Images' AI platform, which is a multiuser enterprise solution, iStock's platform is designed for individual users.

The platform was trained using Nvidia’s Picasso model and learned from Getty’s creative library and iStock’s stock photo library. It offers new features like Inpainting and Outpainting, which allow users to modify and expand images. Pricing is set at $14.99 for 100 prompts, with each prompt generating four images. However, unlike Getty Images' AI platform, users of iStock's platform will not have unlimited indemnification, but a cap of $10,000 per asset.
