GitHub teases Copilot enterprise plan that lets companies customize for their codebase | TechCrunch

Nov 08, 2023 - news.bensbites.co
GitHub has announced plans for an enterprise subscription tier for its Copilot pair-programmer, which will allow companies to customize the tool based on their internal codebase. The new subscription, called Copilot Enterprise, will cost $39/month and will be available from February 2024. It will include all features of the existing business plan, plus the ability for companies to personalize Copilot Chat for their codebase and fine-tune the underlying models. The company also revealed that it will be extending Copilot Chat beyond the code editor and IDE to GitHub.com for those that subscribe to Copilot Enterprise.

In addition to the enterprise subscription, GitHub also announced the Copilot Partner Program, which will foster relationships with the broader developer community through plugins built by third-party developer tooling companies. The company is also planning to bring Copilot Chat to the GitHub mobile app and add support for JetBrain’s suite of IDEs. Furthermore, GitHub gave an early look at Copilot Workspace, a “natural language bridge” for developers to go from idea to running code in just a few minutes, which is expected to be available in 2024.
