Glass supercharges smartphone cameras with AI — minus the hallucinations | TechCrunch

Feb 08, 2024 - techcrunch.com
Glass, a company that specializes in camera technology, has released an AI-powered camera upgrade called GlassAI. The software uses a neural image signal processor (ISP) to improve image quality by correcting optical aberrations and sensor issues, and efficiently removing noise. The company claims that their neural ISP outperforms traditional image signal processing pipelines at fine texture recovery. Glass's co-founder and CEO, Ziv Attar, believes their neural ISP is superior to any in the industry, including Apple's.

The company recently raised $9.3 million in funding led by GV, with participation from Future Ventures, Abstract Ventures, and LDV Capital. The funds will be used to further develop their technology and expand their product offerings. Glass is also working on a full camera system based on an unusual lozenge-shaped front element, which is expected to hit the market soon.
