Dec 04, 2024 - news.crunchbase.com
Global venture funding reached $28 billion in November 2024, a decrease from October's $32 billion but an increase from November 2023's $21 billion, according to Crunchbase data. Over a third of the funding came from three companies: xAI, Anthropic, and Tricentis. Seed and early-stage funding fell year over year, with seed funding totaling just over $2 billion, a third less than the previous year. Early-stage funding fell by over 20% year over year, while late-stage funding doubled.

The proportion of billion-dollar deals has increased over the past two years, with 16% of all global venture funding in 2024 being billion-dollar-plus deals, mainly in the AI sector. This is a slight increase from 2023's 15% and a significant increase from 2022's 5%. Over half of November's venture investment went to AI sector companies, reaching a monthly peak of over $14 billion. Despite the overall increase in investment, November was a slower month for seed, Series A, and Series B deals.
