Google Bard AI Dips into Gmail, Google Maps, YouTube

Sep 20, 2023 - cnet.com
Google's AI chatbot, Bard, has been updated to integrate with Google apps such as Gmail, Docs, and YouTube, allowing users to pull information from these apps during a conversation with Bard. The new "Bard Extensions" will make it easier to find information across multiple Google tools and apps, according to a blog post by Yury Pinsky, director of product management for Bard. Users can control whether they want to turn on these extensions and how they want to use them.

Google also introduced a "Google It" button to double-check Bard's responses, with responses available in English starting Tuesday. These new features were enabled by updates to Google's language processing system, PaLM 2. Google launched Bard in March this year, following the launch of ChatGPT and Microsoft's Bing AI search.
