Google Photos will soon give you more say in those AI-created video highlights

Oct 24, 2023 - theverge.com
Google is set to roll out an update for Google Photos that will allow users to set parameters for the creation of video slideshows, instead of waiting for them to be automatically generated. Users will be able to search for the content they want included, such as specific people, places, or activities, and the app will select fitting pictures, add music, and sync everything. Users can then trim clips, rearrange them, or change the music.

Previously, users could create these videos but had to manually select the content. The new feature is a middle ground between this and waiting for automatic generation. The feature will be rolled out gradually, and it is not yet known whether it will be available on the web, which OS versions will support it, or what other tags might work for it.
