Aug 30, 2023 - techcrunch.com
Google has announced updates to its AI-powered companion, Duet AI, at the Google Cloud Next ’23 event. The AI tool, which is now generally available for Workspace users, will enhance Gmail’s smart reply feature, allowing users to draft longer, more personalized emails. Users will have access to a “Help me write” button, offering various writing assistance options. Duet AI can draft emails using the user's own words, understanding the context from previous emails to create relevant replies.

The AI feature can also adjust the tone of the email, add more detail, or decrease the length for brevity. A fun feature, “I’m feeling Lucky,” allows users to choose from fun variations on tone and style. A similar feature will be available in Docs, allowing users to change the tone, summarize sections, add bullets, elaborate or shorten text, and provide their own instructions on content refinement.
