Here’s how to create a custom emoji with the Apple Intelligence feature ‘Genmoji’ | TechCrunch

Nov 12, 2024 - techcrunch.com
Apple's latest software updates, iOS 18.2, iPadOS 18.2, and macOS Sequoia 15.2 public betas, have introduced the AI-generated Bitmoji feature, Genmoji. This feature, which debuted at WWDC 2024, allows users to create original emojis from written prompts or photos. Genmojis can be used in Messages, Stickers, Tapbacks, and can also be used to react to messages. To create a Genmoji, users need to type a prompt into the search bar in the emoji keyboard and select "Create New Emoji".

Currently, Genmoji is only available to users with Apple’s iOS 18.2 public beta, with an official launch expected in early December. The feature is supported on various iPhone and iPad models, with macOS Sequoia support coming soon. However, Apple Intelligence, which powers Genmoji, is not supported in China and the EU due to regulations, and is currently only available in U.S. English. More language support is expected to roll out by 2025.
