Microsoft Signs Office AI Deal with Vodafone, Adds Features to Excel, Outlook

Vodafone Group Plc has signed a significant deal with Microsoft Corp. to use artificial intelligence (AI) assistants for Office, following successful early trials that found workers saved about three hours a week per person. The telecommunications company will purchase 68,000 licenses for the corporate versions of the AI assistants, known as Copilots. Microsoft also unveiled a range of new AI tools designed to assist workers in creating Excel charts, prioritizing emails, and collaborating with each other.

Microsoft reported that the number of Copilot customers increased by more than 60% in the most recent quarter compared to the previous period, and the number of clients with more than 10,000 users doubled.
