Seven MIT faculty members and 21 MIT alumni are among 126 early-career researchers awarded the 2025 Sloan Research Fellowships by the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation. The fellowships, which provide a two-year, $75,000 grant, recognize exceptional researchers at U.S. and Canadian institutions for their creativity, innovation, and research accomplishments. The MIT recipients represent various departments, including Biology, Chemistry, Civil and Environmental Engineering, Earth, Atmospheric and Planetary Sciences, Economics, Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Music and Theater Arts, and the Sloan School of Management. This year, MIT and Northwestern University are tied for the most faculty recipients, each with seven.
