Move Over, AirPods: Technics Unveils New Earbuds With Features Apple Can’t Match

Jan 07, 2025 - forbes.com
Panasonic's premium audio brand Technics has unveiled its latest true wireless earbuds, the EAH-AZ100, at CES 2025 in Las Vegas. These earbuds are smaller than the previous AZ80 model and come in chic black or silver finishes. They feature a magnetic fluid driver, inspired by the Technics EAH-T2700 wired in-ear monitors, which uses an oily liquid with magnetic particles to enhance bass and maintain audio fidelity. The earbuds offer excellent noise-cancelling without the pressurized feel, support spatial audio optimized for Dolby Atmos with Head Tracking, and are the first to provide multipoint connectivity for three devices across iOS and Android.

Additionally, the Technics EAH-AZ100 earbuds include Voice Focus AI, which utilizes an AI noise reduction chip and three microphones per earbud to enhance call quality by minimizing background noise and improving the caller's sound. They come with five sizes of silicone ear tips for a customized fit and are priced at $299 in the U.S. and £259 in the U.K. The earbuds are set to be available for purchase in the coming weeks.
