NASA’s AI Earth Copilot will take your questions about our planet

Nov 15, 2024 - theverge.com
NASA is partnering with Microsoft to develop an AI chatbot, Earth Copilot, aimed at simplifying access to and understanding of scientific data about the Earth. The tool will answer questions about the planet by converting NASA's extensive geospatial information into easily understandable responses. The goal is to democratize access to scientific data, as currently, understanding the information within NASA's database is challenging for non-researchers or scientists.

Currently, Earth Copilot is only available to NASA scientists and researchers for assessment of its capabilities. Following this, there will be an exploration of its integration into NASA’s Visualization, Exploration, and Data Analysis (VEDA) platform, which already provides access to some of the agency's data.
