Number of Israeli Gen AI startups more than doubles in six months

The total funding raised by Israeli generative AI startups has reached $2.3 billion, marking a 2.5x increase from April of the same year. The number of generative AI-related startups in the country has more than doubled in the past five months, from 67 to 144. However, Israeli startups have largely been overlooked in the mega funding rounds in this sector, with the largest round being AI21 Labs' $155 million Series C.

Remagine Ventures, which has been investing in the generative AI space since 2019, believes that Israeli founders have the necessary talent, multidisciplinarity, and culture to succeed in this field. The firm sees potential in vertical SaaS, task-oriented models, and tooling for low-code/no-code Gen AI-based applications. It has already invested in seven startups in this space, including Hour One, Munch, and Playo.
