OpenAI has appointed its first chief marketing officer (CMO), Kate Rouch, who previously served as Coinbase's CMO. Rouch will be responsible for marketing AI chatbot ChatGPT to consumer and enterprise audiences and will focus on communicating OpenAI's mission to develop AI as powerful as human cognition. She will report to COO Brad Lightcap, starting Dec. 10. This follows the departure of Krithika Muthukumar, who served as vp, marketing until August 2023.
