OpenAI recruiters are trying to lure Google AI employees with $10 million pay packets, report says

OpenAI is reportedly offering pay packages of up to $10 million to attract top researchers from Google, according to The Information. The AI firm, which has already hired dozens of former Google and Meta employees, is also providing top tech resources such as AI accelerator chips for tests. OpenAI is also planning another employee share sale this year that could value the company at $86 billion.

The company has previously closed a share sale in April, valuing it between $27 billion and $29 billion. If successful in recruiting top Google AI researchers, they could benefit from compensation packages of between $5 million and $10 million after the latest share sale. OpenAI has already hired at least 93 people who have previously worked at Google and Meta, including five former Google researchers who were acknowledged in the launch of OpenAI's AI chatbot, ChatGPT.
