OpenAI has appointed the former president of Amazon Web Services’s Japan division to lead its efforts to attract enterprise clients in Japan, the world's fourth-largest economy. The artificial intelligence company is also opening an office in Tokyo and launching a custom GPT-4 model specifically for Japanese language users.
OpenAI currently has 2 million weekly active users in Japan. Its enterprise clients in the country include Daikin Industries Ltd., Rakuten Group Inc., and an affiliate of Toyota Motor Corp.
