OpenAI’s new Operator is a step into AI’s agentic future

OpenAI has introduced a research preview of Operator, an AI agent capable of browsing the web and performing digital tasks for users. Powered by the Computer-Using Agent (CUA), Operator combines GPT-4o’s vision and reasoning capabilities to interact with graphical user interfaces on computers and websites.
