Sam Altman set to return to OpenAI's board of directors nearly 5 months after surprise ouster

OpenAI CEO Sam Altman is set to return to the company's board of directors, following his surprise ouster in November. The decision was announced after an internal investigation, with board chair Bret Taylor stating that the board unanimously agreed Altman was the right leader for the company. Three other board members who were involved in Altman's ouster have since left their positions.

In addition to Altman's reinstatement, OpenAI also announced the appointment of three new board members, bringing the total number of leaders to seven.
