Samsung Announces New Galaxy S24 Lineup With AI-Powered Photo Editing, Search Features - Slashdot

Samsung has unveiled its new Galaxy S24 smartphone lineup, featuring a host of new artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities. The top-tier S24 Ultra model is powered by a version of Qualcomm's Snapdragon Series 8 Gen 3, optimized for Galaxy, and a mix of Qualcomm systems-on-chips (SoCs) and Samsung's own Exynos chipset. The S24 Ultra, encased in titanium, has a 6.8-inch display and includes new AI features powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, such as the ability to identify objects in photos and provide search results.

The new AI features also include photo editing capabilities, live transcription services, and AI watermarking to combat misinformation and copyright infringement. Users can edit reflections out of photos, move objects within photos, and receive real-time transcriptions of conversations. Samsung will keep a log of AI-edited photos in the metadata and include an icon indicating that the image has been edited using AI.
