Samsung unveils its generative AI model Samsung Gauss

Samsung has unveiled its generative AI model, Samsung Gauss, named after the mathematician Carl Friedrich Gauss. The model, developed by Samsung Research, is currently being used to enhance employee productivity but will be expanded to product applications in the future. Samsung Gauss includes Samsung Gauss Language, designed to enhance work efficiency and consumer experience, Samsung Gauss Code, a coding assistant for in-house software development, and Samsung Gauss Image, which can generate and edit images.

The models can be applied on-device to protect consumer privacy, and Samsung is also working to ensure safe AI usage through its AI Red Team, which checks for security and privacy issues during data collection, AI model development, service deployment, and through the generated results.
