Samsung’s AI for Galaxy phones may have the same problem as Google’s Pixel 8 AI

Jan 04, 2024 - aibeat.co
Samsung is set to launch its Galaxy S24 series globally on January 17, 2024, with built-in AI features, according to a teaser trailer released on social media. The AI features, dubbed "Galaxy AI", are expected to compete with Google's Pixel 8 phones, and will require both a Samsung and Google account, as well as an active internet connection, to function. The AI processing will primarily occur on the cloud, similar to Google Pixel phones, and may require significant time to function.

In the previous year, Samsung introduced Gauss AI, a Large Language Model (LLM) similar to OpenAI’s ChatGPT, capable of text and image generation and coding assistance. Although the recent teaser did not mention Gauss AI, it is expected to debut with the new flagship phones. Leaks also suggest that Samsung's One UI 6.1 will feature custom wallpapers, live translation, and noise suppression on calls, similar to Google Pixel 8.
