SuperAGI snags funding from Jan Koum's Newlands VC to fuel its full-stack AGI ambitions | TechCrunch

Mar 11, 2024 - techcrunch.com
SuperAGI, an AI startup, has secured $10 million in a Series A funding round led by Newlands VC, a firm backed by WhatsApp founder Jan Koum. The funds will be used for further research and development of middleware and software applications. SuperAGI is developing a full-stack Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) platform based on Large Agentic Models (LAMs), which are seen as the next stage in development for Large Language Models. The company's research has gained traction with over 20,000 developers, including those at Microsoft, Google, Tencent, Tesla, and JP Morgan Chase.

SuperAGI has also launched several applications, including Contlo, a marketing automation tool, and Verk, an AI employee for various roles. The startup has open-sourced its infrastructure, including the LAMs, autonomous agents framework, and training datasets, allowing companies to build agentic systems based on their requirements. Despite a decrease in investments in AI startups in Q4, SuperAGI has attracted over 1,000 paid customers across its apps and aims to be one of the top three AI research companies globally by 2024.
