SydeLabs raises $2.5M seed to develop an intent-based firewall guard for AI

Mar 28, 2024 - venturebeat.com
SydeLabs, a California-based startup, has raised $2.5 million in seed funding from RTP Global, Picus Capital, and other angel investors. The company offers a real-time, intent-based firewall to protect businesses from new attack vectors that could be exploited by generative AI. Its product suite includes SydeBox, a red-teaming solution for stress-testing AI apps and models, and SydeGuard and SydeComply, which provide real-time intent-based protection and help identify and fix gaps in AI systems that could lead to compliance issues.

Since its launch on March 1, 2024, SydeBox has been adopted by over 15 enterprises, detecting more than 10,000 vulnerabilities across 50+ applications/models. The seed funding will be used for R&D and to bring SydeGuard and SydeComply to market. In the long term, SydeLabs plans to offer SydeBox for free to enterprises and monetize SydeGuard using a consumption-based model.
