These smart binoculars can identify birds and animals for you

Jan 10, 2024 - theverge.com
The Marc Newson-designed Swarovski Optic AX Visio binoculars, equipped with AI technology, can identify over 9,000 species of birds and other wildlife. The binoculars process the image of the bird in focus and display its species on the screen within about five seconds. The binoculars also have a built-in GPS to help identify species based on location, and a "Share discoveries" function that allows users to guide others to what they saw.

In addition to identifying species, the binoculars can take pictures and videos with a 13MP and 1080p video camera, which can be transferred wirelessly to the Swarovski Optik Outdoor app on a user's phone. However, priced at $4,799, these binoculars are a significant investment. The AX Visio binoculars will be available for purchase in February.
