This AI Chatbot Has Helped Doctors Treat 3 Million People–And May Be Coming To A Hospital Near You

Jul 17, 2023 - forbes.com
Digital health startup K Health is planning to expand its artificial intelligence technology in hospitals, beginning with new strategic investor Cedars-Sinai. The company's AI-powered chatbot collects patient symptoms and medical history, compares it with data from millions of patients, and suggests a medical condition based on the comparison. The chatbot also allows patients to connect with a human doctor or nurse who can take over the chat. K Health, which is not yet profitable, had $52 million in revenue last year and has served more than 3.1 million patients in 48 states.

K Health recently closed a partnership deal with Cedars-Sinai to use its technology for virtual urgent and primary care services. The company also raised $59 million in a funding round, with Cedars-Sinai joining as a strategic investor. The partnership will allow both new and existing patients to use an app that connects to K Health's AI and leads to a chat with a Cedars-Sinai credentialed doctor or nurse. The app is expected to go live by the end of this year. K Health is also developing predictive algorithms to help doctors personalize treatments based on patient data.
