This robovac has an arm that can pick up your dirty laundry

Jan 05, 2025 - theverge.com
Roborock has introduced its latest flagship robot vacuum, the Saros Z70, featuring an innovative articulating robotic arm called OmniGrip. This arm can extend to pick up items like socks and tissues while cleaning, although it operates slowly and is limited to objects under 300 grams. The Z70 uses the StarSight Autonomous System 2.0 for navigation and obstacle recognition, allowing it to identify and remember object locations. It also features impressive suction power, dual anti-tangle systems, and advanced mopping capabilities. The robot pairs with a new Multifunctional Dock 4.0 for charging and maintenance, and it supports Matter 1.4 for smart home integration.

Alongside the Z70, Roborock unveiled two other models, the Saros 10R and Saros 10, both priced at $1,599.99. The 10R shares many features with the Z70 but has slightly lower suction power, while the Saros 10 offers a new VibraRise mopping feature and improved obstacle avoidance. All models are compatible with major voice assistants and are set to receive updates for enhanced smart home connectivity. The Saros 10R and 10 will be available from February 10th, with the Z70 expected to ship by June 2025.
