TSMC founder reveals he asked Nvidia's Jensen Huang to replace him as CEO
In his new memoir, TSMC founder Morris Chang revealed that he had asked Nvidia founder Jensen Huang to succeed him as CEO in 2013. Chang spent 10 minutes outlining his vision for TSMC, but Huang declined the offer, stating that he already had a job. Chang believed Huang's character, professional background, and deep knowledge of the semiconductor industry made him an ideal candidate for the role.

Despite the declined offer, the two founders have maintained a friendly professional relationship. Nvidia, founded by Huang in 1993, has become one of the world's most valuable companies, and TSMC remains one of Nvidia's biggest customers. Chang, who founded TSMC in 1987, stepped down as CEO in 2018 and was replaced by C C. Wei.
