Dutch recycling giant Bollegraaf Group is investing in UK AI startup Greyparrot, which uses computer vision for waste analytics. The partnership includes the transfer of Bollegraaf’s AI vision business to Greyparrot, with Bollegraaf also making a cash investment of $12.8M for a non-controlling stake in the startup. Greyparrot's technology uses AI to analyze waste and improve recycling processes, and the company expects future waste recovery facilities to be built with AI from the start. The partnership will help accelerate the integration of AI analytics with recycling machinery, with the aim of improving waste management efficiency.

The deal will also see Bollegraaf serve as a worldwide distributor for Greyparrot’s AI camera system hardware.
