Jun 10, 2024 - techcrunch.com
Apple kicked off WWDC 2024 with several announcements about VisionOS, including a new feature that allows users to convert existing images into spatial photos using machine learning. This marks a shift from the previous method that required images to be taken on an iPhone 15 Pro or the Vision Pro itself. The feature is part of the new VisionOS 2 release, expected to be available later this year. Apple also announced that the previously U.S.-only headset will now be available in additional countries.

In other news, French startup Kelvin, which uses AI for home energy audits, has raised $5.1M. The U.K. and Canada are investigating a data breach at 23andMe. Dubai-based Stake has raised $14 million for its fractional property investment platform. Anterior, a company that uses AI to expedite health insurance approvals, has raised a $20 million Series A round.
