Windows is getting its own Magic Eraser to AI-modify your photos

Feb 23, 2024 - theverge.com
Microsoft has announced a new feature called Generative erase for its Photos app, which allows users to selectively remove elements from photos using AI technology. This feature, which can make objects like a dog's leash or unwanted photobombers disappear, will be available on Windows PCs, eliminating the need for users to purchase a new Pixel or Galaxy device.

The company is not only introducing this feature to Windows 11, but also to Windows 10 and Windows 11 for Arm64 devices. The update, which also includes a background removal tool, is currently available to Windows Insiders. However, Microsoft has not clarified whether AI-edited photos will have metadata or watermarks to differentiate them from unedited ones.
