Dec 06, 2024 - techcrunch.com
Nowadays, a startup founded by sisters Anna Sun and Amy Yan in 2023, uses AI to plan large, expensive events. The company uses its own database of 400,000 global venues and a proprietary model based on OpenAI, Anthropic, and its own coding to gather bids from venues and caterers, organize the information, and present it to the event planner. The platform has been used to book over $4 million worth of events for companies like Google, Amazon, Notion, and Supabase.

The startup recently raised a $2 million party seed round from various VCs including Y Combinator, Basis Set Ventures, Hike VC, VentureUs, Underdog Labs, Decacorn Capital, SBXi, E14 and dozens of other angels. While it’s most often used for corporate events, it has also been used to plan a wedding and a 50th anniversary. The company charges 5% of what it sources or offers an annual subscription for event planners.
